The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the National Football League

That result may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 competitors

Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard season average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

Denver beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive victories, just like Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his side to victory

The defense is solid and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown

While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a successful opponent, although a huge one against Buffalo

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to face. There is a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both scored forty points to go to seven and two before next week's major game between the two in Los Angeles

They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a contest

Each could easily be undefeated as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score

Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're truly among the best sides in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
