Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
