President Trump Calls Relatives of Shot Military Personnel to the White House

President Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Tragic Event

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Call

The president explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president informed reporters. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Mourners gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to support law enforcement in the capital.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that educators wished for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the principal of her former high school, informed the press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to help others.”

Funeral details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Changes

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the government to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” he informed the crowd at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
