Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
