Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have started production, with an additional eleven preparing to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Battlefield Conditions

The drones will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.
